Andrew Geoffrey Vineyards is proud to announce the release of the 2015 Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon. This release continues a tradition of unparalleled quality from our estate vineyard located atop Diamond Mountain in the Diamond Mountain District sub-appellation of the Napa Valley. John Gibson, Andrew Geoffrey's consulting winemaker, and owner Peter Thompson have blended the finest lots produced from the cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and petit verdot varietals grown in the vineyard to produce a sophisticated and balanced age-able wine. The wine was bottled on July 19, 2016 and is now available for sale in 375ml, 750ml, 1.5 liter and 3.0 liter bottles. As you probably know as an Andrew Geoffrey Vineyards supporter, as a result of Covid 19, Blackbird Restaurant in Chicago (a one star Michelin Restaurant) has announced it will not be re-opening. As a further result, my son Geoff (the Geoffrey in Andrew Geoffrey), who was Executive Sous Chef at Blackbird, has been orchestrating private in-home fine dining experiences. Geoff and his team have been spending their time in isolation experimenting with new menu ideas geared towards a small group, (less than 20) fine dining, multi-course tailored lunch or dinner. Although Geoff is willing to design the menu and prepare the dinner, he also enjoys requests for special ingredients and adventurist diners. (Most recently a request for Elk and another for fresh Uni. As well, allowances can be made for special dietary restrictions such as vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free etc.) As Executive Sous Chef at Blackbird, Geoff has become proficient at sourcing fresh and exciting ingredients, some of which you may never have heard of, but will surely elevate your evening. Ahhhh, this dining experience does come at a price. All I can say, is the price will vary depending on the number of courses and raw ingredients chosen by you and Geoff for your experience. Alternatively, you can give Geoff a price range and he will curate an appropriate menu within your budget. Roughly, prices have ranged from $150 per person to $225 per person. Should you wish to have a wine paired dinner, Geoff will work closely with his wine consultant (me) to pick wines to enhance the cuisine. Wine pricing will be determined separately. On to logistics. Geoff is based near downtown Chicago, but is available to take his dining adventure on the road – well, not too far on the road. If your dinner is within 2 hours driving time of downtown Chicago, travel is included in the price of dinner. Beyond 2 hours, you can work with Geoff on accommodations for him and his team the evening of the dinner. You, as host, will need to provide a kitchen (lol), cutlery and all dinnerware appropriate for the number of guests for your event. Geoff’s team is typically one additional chef/server. However, for events over 8 people, to achieve the level of service we expect, an additional chef/server will be needed and provided at an additional charge.
